When morn breaks with hues of golden light,
The cute daffodils awake on emerald lea;
They nod and dance in robes of yellow bright,
To greet the whisper of the wandering breeze
He sweeps the vale with soft and gentle grace,
A lover comes to kiss each petal nice and fair,
And in their blush he finds a sweet embrace,
While scent and song enchant the summer air
They flirt beneath the skies so wide and blue,
Her silken blooms responding to his cold sigh,
He sings of rains and skies in silver hue,
She glows beneath the sun's approving eye.
Their love, though brings joy to field and hill
The cool breeze woos the heart of daffodil.
