51. Ode to Human Being

51. Ode to Human Being

                                 By JH Sayyar

1

O Man, your birth: water; think about it
You are proud of deeds, ignorant of life aim
Time devours all: health and wealth; grit
Compare your being with macrocosm, O shame
Men propose, God dispose, plans of our being
God’s will mighty, He ever speaks always
In the voice of thunder with cruel kings
Nothing; immortal; time spindle is fleeing
In Universe but lucky makes God’s praise
Prayers fly to heaven like Phoenix’s wings

2

Nothing behind, just good or bad intention
Bad thoughts fruit injurious to men’s mind
Health and soul; life, in holy books mention
Cruel plans on earth against men all unkind
To the Maker; we each are carrying a child
Cruel kills wisdom in the mother’s wombs
Its son keeps alive to use for their dark aims
Against men and God, their hearts are wild
More cruel snakes are living in the tombs
They use men’s emotions for personal fame

3

Limited days, limitless wishes and greed
Rule our hearts; think; others will die
Live in deceit; going to hell; do not heed
Souls weep; want from our body to fly
Think! O man, how to get our lost home
Ah! Our souls’ thoughts are against men
The fruit of counted days take a sullen shape
Without mother; children in darkness roam
When wolves take chicks of cocks and hen
We each day with our poor souls rape!
