Ode to the Sleeper
By JH Sayyar
1
Cool breeze runs like a horse at the globe,
Wandering clouds, thunder light at noon,
Gliding airs, uproot trees and leave a sob,
Like an injured; crying in a painful tone,
The weather fine, birds come out of the dens
Beats and birds live together in the dark forest,
Spread light of soul, sand-particles bright,
In day light shone, black flying ravens,
Free of fear, cool breeze, gentle rain for rest,
All around piping koels on the trees sit bite
2
I see swans at the shore, of all heads, sad,
All in pairs, as their; she-swans sleep in;
The nests, ignoring all busy sleeping wade,
Cruel weather, dreamers shun from the din,
Eyes void of sights, ears void of hearing songs,
Of birds, in breeze; flying in circles, great
Diving sharks, cute kids sitting on the beach
The sleepers sleep, hear lovely songs,
Of a holy church, all alone what a fate!
None there; few kids, moms children teach,
3
I see my Lady depriving of lovely sights,
Of weather-birds, cool breeze; light rain,
She sleeps invert, cursing all day and night,
Breaking child’s toys, my God what a pain,
My Lady, per blind, cannot see owl and bat,
All day sleep, a night dream, a pure lie,
Day dream, free of lie, like pure gold,
None knows, how sees at night; a cat,
Day dreams come true like Judgment day,
Night dreams deceive, as a blanket in cold
