Ode to Graveyard
By JH Sayyar
1
Oh peaceful graveyard, made of marble stones,
Silence rules; sitting among the Cypress trees,
Coral Belle, Bleeding Heart and Cinnamons
Standing, Benu, Anzu and cute Boobries
Sitting on the trees in long standing rows,
Of marble stones, all green grass is seen,
Owls and Sparrows search food on the floor,
Sedum, Fairy Rose, Ajuja under Thyme rose
A perfect silence for meditation, full serene,
All bird were happy; none behind the door
2
Looking at the sight, birds come from the walls
Circle the Love Cadaver and bill to bill stand
Weep over my love, a wise bird Boobrie calls,
For the Hoopoe to dig a tiny grave; grand,
Before the burial; all birds, trees and flowers,
Weep watching love death, heat bleeding still
Lips burnt with false kissing, all around smoke,
Love burial, wrapped in rose in those hours,
Put Cypress leaves on the grave in the chill
All pray with sobs and sighs sitting on a rock,
3
I weep night; birds crying over my head,
By crying consol me flapping their wings,
Make wings’ shadow over my head
All gather on the grave, A dove thus sings,
Love: a flower withers with hate heat on earth,
Love: a shady tree for a tired human being
Love: is an heavenly promise cord,
Love: love a trust, burns in the lie hearth,
Love: a child’s grace; now love is fleeing,
For old age dear sons; in youth it does hoard!
