816. Sonnet upon Ch Tahir;s Sincere Friendship Nature

SONNET 816
By JH Sayyar

O steadfast soul, whose truth no storm can shake,
Ch. Tahir, noble heart, both just and wise,
With every word, a trust you gently wake,
And honor dwells wherever your spirit flies.
In halls where fickle voices rise and fade,
Your voice remains a light, both firm and clear,
Not lured by gain, nor by deception swayed
But moved by conscience, clean and void of fear.
You wear no mask, nor forge a feigned delight,
But bear your-self with unpretending grace;
A beacon in the world’s long, shadowed night,
Whose candor shines upon a darker place?

O may your truth, in time's vast stream endure,
For hearts like yours make weary earth more pure.
