9. Ode to Artemis

9- Ode to Artemis

                 By JH Sayyar

1
At the beach, your image in eyes floating
Cool breeze running, waves play with moon,
Sing larks over the sea, with mothers kids boating,
In the trees, night cuckoos and nightingales croon,
Swim fishes on sea, in moonlight blue waves,
I see a mermaid sings with a happy merman,
Lovers’ with beloveds, couples on the beach,
A heart burning sight, I had drunk henbane,
I in trance reached in the age of caves,
I see sitting Artemis among the little cute babes,
She stood up, saluted me when I there reach.

2
I request her parents; here to call for Artemis,
I reach here on the wings of Poetic Muse,
Alas! Artemis’ followers, deprive of a kiss,
My Swan, Artemis, change your views,
Creation stops, nature weeps, no print behind,
Alter her mind; spread among belles Astral Light,
My Swan, cute more than you on earth.
Cutes are worshiped, but refuse to mate a plight,
She loves to kiss and hug; with true love; bind,
Her serpentine thinking on earth I do not find,
A self-conceit, God does not award it at her birth

3
Her cheeks, lips, wild eyes and coral breast
Red fingers wear rings and a beaming chin,
Looking at them burns soul, stone-hearted agile
Like a sparrow hot,  but her wayward fin,
Stops her move to the sea; danger to be eaten,
Loneliness bites, in the sea loveless mass,
Pythia; make her understand, love; a soul of life
Eyes sans light, you cannot stay sans love, Alas!
Because my Swan follows old track mostly beaten,
Their holy mind and heart turn into a stagnant fen,
A fighting in her bosom and in her soul strife
