13. Ode to a Busy Night

13. Ode to a Busy Night

                              By JH Sayyar

1
All busy, stars twinkle, moon shines for flowers,
Night birds collect food, for sleeping bambinos,
Larks sing over the sea, eagles sit on high towers,
Eyes searching preys, crocodiles play in ooze,
Lovers busy making revelry, I sit alone on the shore,
Sinking moon in surfs, sharks busy diving in waves,
The aqua makes circles, running all over the sea,
Kids playing with ferry boats, my hearts craves,
To talk someone; all busy working O at the door,
I see the sight, remind me of love yore,
When love ruled soul,  welcomed guests gladly.

2
All busy, just like my Lady busy with her aunt
Chairs, table, dinner supply, but ignores my being,
Like birds chirping while talking, a mild taunt,
Before sleeping talking bath, my sleep is fleeing,
Yes bites me solitude, eyes count stars; all awake,
Like on duty night watchers, weep with tears,
Shining dress, red lips, and glowing cheeks,
When I see the sight in trance, heart full of fears,
She forgets me like merman and like a flake
In the din of merry women, come back for my sake,
I weep alone, absence makes a mo many a weeks.

3
All busy, I myself busy weeping on her shrine,
I lit the tear-candle, woes shine like a spark,
Prays to the sleep deity; recall me when she does dine,
O cute fingers; with morsel, mix my love in dark,
O cold water; mix my tears in her soft drink,
O teeth, mix my love in water; O tongue,
Not to give taste; mix in it my tears’ salt,
Remind her of my love, she is still young,
O bed, O soft pillow give her no rest, at a wink,
Alas! In this woeful night my heart does sink,
In the sea of pleasure, woe and grief, my love part?
