SONNET 262
By JH Sayyar
I know not life journey how is long?
I am traveling on time train most fast,
Singing all alone’ life how to prolong,
Time short; life long, I am downcast,
Alas! On the way; I sit in a leafy vale,
Choked throat and a parching tongue,
Fruits all round; no water in the dale,
A nice garden makes old woes young,
Time controls life with bloody spurs,
The rider cannot walk with full might
Time horse kills on the way all curs!
All die in old age due to time fright!
When my Lady’s face floats in mind,
Watching her seems she is to me kind
