SONNET 263
By JH Sayyar
Heart clock counts my sullen days;
lessening days, months and years
None to count I the Maker praise,
How heart changes glee into tears,
It knows well years how to count,
A magic watch; no handle to control,
And maintains accurate life account.
Where lives time? O Rose in our soul
For second life; it keeps our record,
Of our life-deeds even in the crowd,
Eye sees but watching more hard!
It goes into grave with the shroud,
Life secret in life clock and its beat,
As diamond luster in the coal peat!!
