By JH Sayyar
O golden days when laughter filled the air,
When barefoot steps raced the morning breeze,
And time stretched without a thought or care,
Beneath the shade of whispering, leafy trees
The world a playground, wide and full of glee,
With dreams, danced like clouds across the sky,
Each stone a gem, each puddle like the sea
And every question born a, my reason why
With sticky hands from sweets and summer fruit,
We chased the dusk till stars began to shine,
Our hearts in song, our innocence the lute,
Unburdened by the weight of age or time
O fleeting joy, O sweet days so pure and true
Stay! Forever in my lively soul, I carry you.
