851. Sonnet on Talha and Momina’s Wedding Ceremony

SONNET 851
By JH Sayyar

In jasmine air where moonlight softly spills,
Two hearts were joined beneath the evening star.
Talha, so calm, with dreams the silence fills,
And Momina’s hot love’s flame in every scar
The drums did beat; the henna bloomed on hands,
With laughter strung like pearls on silken thread.
The vows were sealed with gold-wrought bands,
As blessings bloomed and tears of joy were shed.
The night wore red, red roses in its bridal hair,
The stars looked on, a choir of gleaming grace.
What once was lone, now danced in perfect pair,
A union etched in time and might sacred space.

O may this love bond, like rivers joined at sea,
Its flow ever every strong, and ever tender be.
