366. I met a traveler in a sunny eve,

SONNET 366

By JH Sayyar
I met a traveler in a sunny eve,
Who told me his Mistress fair,
“Years passed, she did not deceive,
Today she came I am full of woe,
Listening, I unlock locked throat,
I waited her for painful five years,
I cannot sleep; love in eyes mote,
Ah! My eyes full of warm tears,
She sat by me on the cold ground,
Looking into my eyes with joys,
Watching her face joys no bound,
I say for women hearts just toys,”

My Muse says, “Love a self deceit”
Always simple hearts are made cheat
