232. Your serpentine body, your paws,

SONNET 232

By JH Sayyar
Your serpentine body, your paws,
Sucking blood watering dying eyes,
More mighty your clever eyes’ claws,
Feeble cannot kiss her; never survives,
Phoenix leaves its beauty print in old age,
For the lover’s snare your wrinkled face,
Wonder at her beauty; age fellow sage,
With time circle lessens her face grace,
Tears for jealous, smile, looking in air,
Peeping through your mind ;silly lips,
Coloring them with red hue more fair
Enhances your grace and beauty kips,

Add face beauty to beauty O My Fair,
You do betray me in a false love affair
