661. O Fair! I see all around me sorrows

SONNET 661

By JH Sayyar

O Fair! I see all around me sorrows
Smiling faces I do see everywhere!
But in their eyes; yea hunger crows
Behind all these bad intentions glare
O God! The world is going to worse
Rich’s innocent hearts jealousy rules
Just truth on tongue, lie in the purse
Looks like horsed; nature wise mules
O Lady! Let us think how to refine!
Peoples’ thinking; we cannot change
Alas! To honesty they prefer lie wine
Let us leave the world; live in a grange

Lie termites are eating our holy brain
I see all dishonest hearts; full of pain!
