SONNET 653
By JH Sayyar
O Rose! I see two fools face to daceFighting about love: a gift or a curse
None knows how to grow love grace
Love flies when we keep it in a purse
Love; neither a curse nor a gift; dear:
In lone it is our genial soul’s voice:
An echo that echoes without any fear;
At it we do not; our soul keys rejoice
Alas! We fight for love-trivial issues
As two fools fight without any cause
Ah! We sink in the sea our love cruise:
It sits in the bottom without any pause;
O Lady: in love; a fool fights with a fool!
In doings so, we two cute beings ridicule!
