SONNET 545
By JH Sayyar
More wishes; more pains in life;
The key to sorrows; a poor wit!
Better live in limit; free of strife
Woes! Life and pleasures’ grit!
Past bitter O Rose like jackfruit
Present glee, the forbidden tree;
Some faces, all the lovers shoot
I think about increasing worry!
Time circle art; seasons retard!
Past grievances are ever green
In old age losing all more hard
All past faces plunder the serene
So long as see through the eyes!
Past wounds are still my surmise
