511. I see chicks with a mother hen

SONNET 511

By JH Sayyar
I see chicks with a mother hen
Eating grains in a barren field!
Full of kite fear running to den
For chicks mother-wings-shield
Childhood, dear free of worries
Youth; an age of love; no more
Marriage women’s night-eases
And the top secret annual door!
In old age man watches a man!
In the past mirror of utter lone;
All in dark light; dark issue-fan
Body melts bit by bit in moan!

Time steals beauty and all ways
Angels make all old men praise
