487. We will know secrets late or soon

SONNET 487

By JH Sayyar
We will know secrets late or soon
God fixed laws since the first day;
To know secrets, wisdom a boon!
What we do, we all have to pay!
I tell you when pale sun will rise
I cannot tell where fly will grind
My poetic bird surveys all skies
Wit cannot survey woman’s mind
I can write cute woman’s thinking
But not her lies all secret points
To know my Lady’s mind’s sting
To get a lady’s heart shakes joints

Ah! Gifts make dishonest in any age;
Not to trust in slut; says a Guru sage
