434. Your eyes and rosy cheeks me teach,

SONNET 434

By JH Sayyar
Your eyes and rosy cheeks me teach,
How to praise beauty in green rimes,
Brings conceptions for pen to preach,
Among unskilled writers of our times
My Muse never forgets brave knights,
Who reformed moral evils for paradise
Did defeat the monsters in all the fights
I listen  to the innocent hue and cries!
Beauty God’s art, why not spreading!
In old age, beauty was misunderstood,
Men misuse beauty, in history heading,
The fall and rise of iron, steel and wood

When in lone I recall God’s perfect skill,
Among all creatures men; imperfect still
