408. When the sun peeps through rays,

SONNET 408

By JH Sayyar
When the sun peeps through rays,
Fall on the rocks, lakes, and hills,
God’s blessings for all men, gaze,
Look at the seas through the sills,
Listen to birds’ twittering in the air,
Singing God’s glory every time!
Their tongues praise everywhere
They live gaily; make no crime,
Over us God’s blessings shine!
We do all but forget God’s praise,
Sing Satan’s psalms on the pine,
Spreading in hearts unholy rays

Let us ponder over our bad deeds,
What we think, are weak our creeds
