SONNET 325
By JH Sayyar
More cute than Cupid my Fair’s kiss,
Red, red lips, cheeks glowing in dark,
Shining like ruby, sunken breasts amiss,
Mars your beauty it is your being spark.
Watch pebbles striking against the shore,
Losing its being bit by bit day and night,
False your vow, make vows no more!
It mars life charm increasing self plight,
O Lady, promise; men’s crown of soul,
It uplifts grace in life shines like a star
Turns iron into gold your lies like coal,
Breeds diamonds among the coal par,
O Lady, your eyes cunning and lips liar,
Your false promises leave lovers in mire
