215. What I've done wrong to you turn,

SONNET 215

By JH Sayyar
What I've done wrong to you turn,
Your face from my innocent eyes,
I am loyal to you O Rose! I learn,
How to write from you I surprise.
Your beauty teaches me to write,
Precious words for my dull rimes,
My all words live in human sight,
How mighty pen proves pen crimes.
My potent spirit taught me to write,
One invents words, the other wit,
The third knits sentences all night,
The fourth decides when I am fit.

At every step wise improves reason,
But I your love put into word prison.
