213. Come and teach me to love O Muse,

SONNET 213

By JH Sayyar
Come and teach me to love O Muse,
Every time I see in your eyes ruth,
When I ask for love you do refuse,
I know; a witch sits in your youth.
As the canker mars; beauty of a rose,
It is born with it; hidden in the petals,
Eat beauty slowly; hard to diagnose,
As in history the real cause of battles.
Anger is the canker; lives in the eyes,
Licks the thinking power like termite,
Eats words; makes it hollow no cries,
Just like anger weakens your sight.

Take my love; give me your anger,
I hang it on earthly wisdom hanger
