SONNET 583
By JH Sayyar
Except mine, all eyes me, destroy! My body, heart and my holy mind
I see sullen faces O God free of joy!
Cute faces make seeing power blind
Our eyes since human being’s birth
The enemy of our mind and kind soul
Ah! Even do not spare in utter dearth
Eyes’ followers forget goal; but dole
Would that all were blind, I had eyes
I do not change my dress and cute tie
Others’ jealous eyes prove my surmise
O Lady those who reject it all tell a lie
Ah! Do what you do; thinking all blind
Dismiss eyes’ love magic, keep in mind
