SONNET 578
By JH Sayyar
Would that my heart loved you notI lived all alone near crystal lakes
Losing all pleasures I just pain got
I and my ghost played with flakes
Would that I had not given you heart
Would that there were not customs
Of family thinking it my pains dart
Where are you O Rose! Soon come!
I self went far away in the love dale
Now find its punishment all alone!
I neither die nor live in a sorrow dale
Leaving me all alone you have gone
Love pain more delicious than honey
Your coral breasts my hunger money
