SONNET 425
By JH Sayyar
Let us go; where unknown to all
None asks from where you come
Cruel world to me: ah full of gall,
Ah! Men have wonderful ear drum,
We read, do not gaze what in man,
A simple universe, easy for a heart,
In church and mosque we profane,
Sell country’s chastity in the mart
First learn its language us complex
Let us come and read hearts’ lines
Force, hard like iron, soft like wax
Written in codes perfect with trines,
O Rose, Read my heart’s core of life,
Inner heart, forces as man and wife!
