Wise men know; nature of
things,
Air, water, earth and fire, all glad,
How water fruits forth brings,
How flowers wear colored clad
How fire makes clouds black,
Who knows comets in the sky,
How thunders make wide crack,
In stone-steels with light’s cry,
Who hot air turns into cold?
Why hot and cold water alloys,
Who in spring makes cuckoo bold,
In wise men’s hand elements toys
Earth, mother of all, water its son,
All season talks to earth one by one
