SONNET 288
By JH Sayyar
O Lady, when my Love and red lily,
In fine weather sit near the beach,
I try to catch you but beyond reach,
And the dark and dreary night chilly,
Comes to me jealous frisking waves,
Take it away from me I know it not,
But troubles sitting there I have got,
Kissing red, red lily my heart craves,
I love you O Love more and more,
But fears, take you from me away,
From my eyes, O Lady, true I say,
Come, I do not knock at other door,
My shadow in your eyes; yours in mine,
O Lady come, let us make dull night fine
