SONNET 108
By JH Sayyar
God give might to fight the devil,
That flatters to make Adam’s sins
While I swear my Love not to revel,
I do leave forever all worldly dins.
I think, I forget, I am a mortal being,
My span very short, life is too long,
We all are our forefathers following,
It does reminds us of a morning gong.
All are written in the Book of Life,
What we do, open all secret deeds,
With your death will end your strife,
All the sinners in hell, pious in meads
O Man! Do something for the next life,
None goes with you; children or wife.
