29. Today we eat tomorrow will be eaten

SONNET 29

By JH Sayyar
Today we eat tomorrow will be eaten:
By the earthworms in the darkest cell,
Purging dross from the souls are beaten:
Then they are sent to a Heaven’s dell?
Love refines soul; soul God’s decree,
Runs in the blood to control our actions,
Good or bad rests on the will, be free,
All our actions have its own reactions.
Living does prove His eternal being.
We are the shadows of a dark night,
Souls see the shadows are fleeing,
All things are the slaves of Aster light.

Our love rules, when all will parish,
My fingers record you must cherish.
