SONNET 283
By JH Sayyar
The world’s talk about me and you,
But after death our love will remain,
You ignore me knowingly: your rue
Kills my love: give me a darting pain,
Canker lives cunningly in the flowers,
Your canker, pride to your pretty being
Man’s canker lives in wisdom power,
Ignoring time spindle swiftly fleeing,
Traits live in the brain; lust in the eyes,
Honesty prolongs life, lie curtails days,
Goodness activates when our soul flies
After death all fools on it keenly gaze.
O MY Lady! I did nothing for your will,
Alas! Your sweet will is more jealous still,
