By JH Sayyar
Ah! O Lady, let us visit old happy days,
When laughter bloomed like roses on the vine,
Time, kind, walked with us through sunrays,
Each moment wrapped in joy’s warm design.
Do you recall the whispers in the shade?
The secret glances, shy as morning dew?
Beneath the stars our tender vows were made,
The world held naught but me, and only you.
Let memory’s door swing wide upon its hinge,
And lead us where our youthful hearts danced.
Though years have flown on age’s silent wing,
The light within our love remains entranced.
So do come, my dear, and let the past arise
A golden dream reborn in the present skies
