833. I see my image in my lady's eyes,

SONNET 833
By JH Sayyar

I see my image in my lady's eyes,
A twin soul dancing in her crystal gaze,
As if the stars, enamored of the skies,
Reflect my heart in love's eternal blaze.
Her glance, a mirror soft and silver-bright,
Holds me more than glass or stillest stream,
For in that gaze my faults are lost to light,
And I become the man I dare to dream.
No sculptor’s hand, nor poet’s painted phrase,
Could frame the self she silently reveals;
Her eyes, like prayers, in silent wonder praise
The love that time with all its power heals.

O let me live where her sweet vision lies!!
My true self lives only in her innocent eyes.
