By JH Sayyar
Let us sing a song for peace in this land,
Where rivers flow and golden harvests gleam,
Where children play with hope held in their hand,
And freedom walks beside the morning dream.
Let not the drum of war disturb our sleep,
Nor hate divides the hearts that once were kin;
Let mothers smile, and not be left to weep
For sons who fall where no one ought to sin.
The flag that flies should shelter every soul,
No matter name or faith or shade of skin.
Let justice rise and mend what time made whole,
And love begins where silence once had been.
So raise your voice, and let the discord cease
Together now, let us sing a song of peace.
