By JH Sayyar
Come; let us live in the depth of seas unknown,
Where coral palaces in dead silence gleam,
And pearls lie nestled in the ocean's throne,
Far from the ruin of the daylight's dream
No mortal storm shall shake our sunken hall,
Nor time's cold hand decays our boundless rest;
The whales shall sing, and stars of sea shall fall
Like silver wishes on our ocean breast.
There, love shall breathe in bubbles soft and slow,
While moonlit currents weave our twilight bed,
And the entire world above may come and go
But we shall dwell where ancient tides have led.
O Rose! So cast the shore away with all its plea,
And drown with me in my holy love's eternity.
