937. Upon this dawn, the world in hush did lie,

SONNET 937
By JH Sayyar

Upon this dawn, the world in hush did lie,
As light broke forth to kiss the waiting earth,
The stars withdrew in silence from the sky
To mark the hour of a new soul’s sweet birth
A soft breath, a cry, the start of life begun,
The pages blank, the story yet unread,
A journey shaped by moon and fire and sun,
With dreams to chase and tears still t to shed
This day returns with whispers from the past,
Of hopes once swaddled in a cradle’s grace,
Reminding us that time moves swift and fast,
Yet leaves its gentle lines upon the face

So may this birthday be a lighted flame
A vow renewed a life that sings its name.
