797. Sonnet to my University Class fellows (BZU)

SONNET 797
By JH Sayyar

O Friends dear, whose laughter lit the days,
When hearts with restless dreams would burn,
In lecture halls, on winding campus ways,
We carved our truths at every twist and turn.
With coffee cups and midnight essay wars,
We battled time and sleep with wit and cheer,
And raised hopes like banners toward the stars,
While futures bright, shadows seemed less near.
Though time may cast us each on distant seas
And scatter us like leaves on autumn air,
The bond we forged in casual joys like these
Still holds us close, though life leads elsewhere.

So let these words, like ivy, gently climb—
A toast to youth, to friendship, and to time
