O gentle flame that lights the early years,
So pure, untainted by the world’s disguise,
With laughter sweet and joy know no fears,
You shine like morning stars in tender skies.
Your tiny hand, so trustful in its hold,
Grasps not just fingers, but the heart entire
Each glance you cast, more precious than gold,
Ignites in weary souls a sacred hidden fire
You love without condition, thought, or gain,
No pride to wound, no grudge to hold you back
A balm to all of us life's enduring pain,
A bloom untouched by time's relentless track
O childlike love, in you the world is new
A mirror of the love from which we grew
