By JH Sayyar
Ah! I kissed a fairy in my dream,
Beneath the stars where silver lilies grew,
Her lips were soft as moonlit on a stream,
Her breath, a whisper lost in morning dew.
She came on wings of gossamer and flame,
With eyes that held the secrets of the skies,
She called me by no mortal, spoken name,
And vanished anon ere the sun began to rise
Yet in my soul her touch remains aglow,
A taste of kiss where minds can't tread;
She taught me love no heart could know,
A bloom that lives where times have fled
O night! Return and break thy silent seam
I may kiss once more my star-born dream.
